Yengo National Park and Parr SRA Vegetation Survey, 1993. VIS_ID 1852

This survey drew together all survey data to form a comprehensive description of the vegetation of both Yengo National Park & Parr State Recreation Area. The sampling approach for this 1993 survey was selected to be compatible with other surveys completed by NPWS. ; ; As vegetation mapping was primarily for fire management purposes, the boundaries between forest types which behave in specific ways during wildfire were the most crucial to be mapped, and these different types will be related to moisture and structure characteristics. This was done with use of aerial photographs, enhanced Landsat TM imagery, partially completed draft mapping of Yengo, and local knowledge of NPWS staff. Limited ground truthing of these boundaries was also carried out, and the floristic details of completed plots were also used to validate the mapping.
