Vegetation within Lachlan Valley State Conservation Area and Lachlan Valley Regional Park. VIS_ID 3981

The composition and extent of the present vegetation within Lachlan Valley State Conservation Area (Hunthawang) and Lachlan Valley Regional Park (Hillston) is described and mapped. A total of 22 226.8 hectares were mapped, including 2 224.7 hectares of cleared areas. Forty-five (45) quadrat-based sites were sampled for full floristics, with an additional 25 condition-assessed sites, intensive field traverses, opportunistic sampling and aerial photograph interpretation. Eight vegetation communities are described and 269 taxa of vascular plants recorded from 62 families, including one listed threatened species and a further six which are considered to be regionally significant.
