Tweed Valley Floodplain Risk Management Study - Report

Summary of recommended Floodplain Risk Management options is contained in the report. It considered Existing Flood Risk, Flood Modification Measures, Response Modification Measures, Property Modification Measures, Future Flood Risk, Climate Change, and Planning and Future Development.

These measures are summarised in an options assessment matrix which highlights quantifiable impacts, costs and benefits, but also intangible considerations such as social and environmental factors. The matrix can be used to compare options and inform the selection of measures to be adopted for implementation.

Measures are also marked on Figure ES-1 in report where possible / appropriate.

A number of other measures were considered during the study. Measures which were not carried over to this document were found to be not feasible or practicable based on hydraulic assessments and advice from members of the Floodplain Management Technical Sub-committee.
