Lineage	Polygons were initially described according to dominant species in the upper strata (LMveg) from API and field survey and were then assigned to Keith classes and formations and PCTs (Plant Community Types). Where vegetation types appeared to be heterogeneous, API and any available field data was used to split the type (polygon) into more than one vegetation community. However, vegetation types were generally not split below 0.5 ha. Vegetation communities were placed in formations and classes (Keith 2014). Plant Community Types (PCT) were then selected for each polygon based on information collected from each polygon and the description in OEH (2012). The vegetation units identified at Tyagarah NR did not always fit adequately with a PCT description (OEH, 2012 and Appendix 1). Vegetation units were placed within the PCT that was the ‘closest fit’. Sometimes the vegetation unit had affinities with other PCTs. PCTs are a ‘work in progress’. It is likely there will be future modifications to vegetation descriptions and/or new PCTs may be identified that more accurately describe the vegetation communities at Tyagarah NR.
