Abstract |
This layer contains digital mapping of the vegetation communities of the North-west Wollemi Nationa Park and surrounds. Derived from Aerial Photographic Interpretation with communities defined using survey and statistical analysis. The layer includes the boundaries of vegetation communities and lists attributes including vegetation community, understorey, disturbance type & severity as described in the report: DECCW (2012) The Native Vegetation of the Sydney Metropolitan Catchment Management Authority Area. Unpublished report by the Office of Environment and Heritage, NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet. ; VIS ID 3863. |

Linework was derived from 50cm ADS-40 digital imagery for the Mount Pomany and Wallawerang 1;100,000 tiles, flown by the NSW Department of Lands. Linework was drawn and edited manually using ArcGIS 9.2 at a viewing scale of between 1:2000 and 1:15,000. |

The GIS package (ArcInfo) was used to perform a topological consistency check to detect and fix flaws in the spatial data structure. This check insures that all classified polygons are closed, there are no overlapping polygons, nodes are formed at the intersection of lines and that there is only one label within each polygon. |

Attributes of the dataset include vegetation community, understorey and disturbance. Vegetation community is determined by aerial photograph interpretation and statistical analysis of quantitative plots with some post mapping fieldwork to check communities, accuracy for each of the attributes is estimated to be high. |
