In 2014, the Centre for Environmental Management, Federation University Australia (previously the University of Ballarat) was commissioned by the New South Wales Office of Environment and Heritage to undertake a vegetation survey and mapping of the vegetation of the Barwon-Darling Floodplain, between downstream of Brewarrina and upstream of Tilpa.
