NPWS Areas

The National Parks and Wildlife Service Park Operation Areas is a polygon layer that includes the 37 Areas that were finalised in October 2017. They will officially be adopted in December 2017. The boundaries denote the NPWS estate and heritage sites that are managed locally by each Area. NPWS staff that work in various work locations in each of the 37 Areas report to an Area Manager who in turn reports to a Branch Director. There are eight administration branches for the State.
