The dataset was created using a composite layer of linework from DNR (Steward Lukas, DNR, Albury). For further information about the linework, please see:

• The report for which this dataset was created: "The Native Vegetation of the Southern Wheat-Sheep Belt", NSW Department of Environment and Climate Change, June 2007; Part 2.
• "Combined Vegetation Layer for Murrumbidgee Region", Wil Allen, 12 June 2007 (DECC electronic version: N:\Planning and Aboriginal Heritage\2007\06-Planning\LEP\Combined Murrumbidgee Tree Cover & Regional Veg Map -Meta data.doc).

The linework was then attributed with vegetation types from the composite pre1750 dataset that accompanies the "Wheat-Sheep Belt"-report (for further information, see metadata statement for the composite pre1750 layer).

The composite linework layer was then cut to the NSW South Western Slopes (NSS - IBRA bioregion) which falls within the Murray CMA.

The cut dataset was then further cut to a layer that unioned areas of National Parks, Traveling Stock Reserves and State Forests.

Attribute fields:

• FID: Internal feature number

• Shape: Feature geometry

• Density: Tree density codes

• Landuse: Land use codes

• Source: DNR map source (Note: some are blank)

• BVCS: Vegetation community (for Murray Mapping area only)

• GRIDCODE: Grid code

• ObjectID: A distinct number to denote vegetation type ("Label_092") by original mapping source ("Source_72")

• Source_072: The original regional mapping source of the record

• Veg_ID_072: The original vegetation code given in the source mapping

• Label_092: The new vegetation community name (PVP type) from composite regional vegetation map

• Dk_no2: The vegetation class code (Keith)

• Dk_name2: The vegetation class name (Keith)

• Dk_broad2: The broad vegetation group name (Keith)

• Dk_no_name2: The vegetation class number and name (Keith)

• Vegetation: Vegetation community (type) in Label_092, unless DNR linework attributed landuse that excludes native vegetation (f. ex. Plantation, water etc.)

• Tree_cover: Type of tree cover

• Source_: See "Source"-field above

• Acres: Acres

• Hectares: Hectares
