This is a derived data set from existing vegetation data. Mapped areas of tree canopy cover have been combined with broad vegetation community data. This resulted in areas of existing tree cover divided into eleven vegetation communities as well as wetlands and water categories. VIS_ID 4161
To derive existing tree cover.

This dataset was created by combining tree density mapping with floristic information sourced from PreEuropean vegetation data. (TreeCoverMRY and PreEuroopeanVegMRY). The two data sets were unioned using ArcGIS 9.2 (Union Tool). Areas that did not have a density attribute were deleted. Areas that did not have a community attribute were deleted. Metadata imported.
